Staff and students are excited about our upcoming school wide mural project, which begins next month. This project is a wonderful way for our school community to come together to express our creativity and pride in our school. If you are interested in contributing to the project through donating supplies or volunteering your time, please check out the image below for more details. You can select a date and time to volunteer by clicking on the link sent to your FOCUS email. We appreciate your enthusiasm for this project as we continue to celebrate our school's 20th anniversary. If donating, please send in all supplies by February 5th. If your student is participating, please make sure to return the permission slip by January 24th (this Friday). National School Counseling Week focuses public attention to the unique contribution of school counselors within the school system. This week highlights the impact counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan a successful career.
Celebrate Literacy Week is designed to raise awareness about the importance of reading and to inspire our students and families to make reading part of their daily routines.

Lake County schools and offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 21.
Please save the date for the upcoming PTO-sponsored Valentines Dance. If you're interested in helping with ticket sales during the week of February 3rd or volunteering at the event please check your email (listed in FOCUS) for a link to sign up.
PTO would also like to help the school secure water station volunteers for our annual Fun Run on February 7th. The link was also sent in email.

Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida is January 27-31 and this year's theme is Building Literacy - Constructing the Foundation for Success! Please see the week's line up below:
• Monday, January 27 - Students will construct a positive classroom message about literacy at school
• Tuesday, January 28 - Students will have the opportunity to read outside
• Wednesday, January 29 - Your child can dress up like a word they want others to learn
• Thursday, January 30 - Students can opt to read a poem on stage during lunch
• Friday, January 31 - Students are encouraged to dress in Pine Ridge spirit wear
Attention 5th grade families: ERMS will be hosting our elective selection night AND campus tours for our incoming 6th graders on Tuesday, February 25th at 5pm .

Pine Ridge hosted the Principal and Select School Staff Member for a day raffle this November where students had the chance to shadow the staff member of their choice for a day. The winners had a fun-filled day of important duties like visiting classrooms, helping enrichment teachers with their classes, participating in Minute-to-Win-it games, scavenger hunts, pizza and lots more! We even heard some voices on the Walkie Talkies! Thanks to all who participated in the raffle and a big thank you to the winners who helped make the day such a success! Keep an eye out for the next awesome activity here on the Ridge!

Art to Remember flyers have arrived! Please check your student’s folders and backpacks to find their personalized order form. If your student has been absent or has art on a “C” day their forms will arrive by the end of this week or soon after Thanksgiving break. Enjoy shopping and thank you for supporting our art program here at PRE!
