What is SAC?

Pine Ridge Elementary School Advisory Council (SAC) is a statutory body established by the Florida Legislature.  Its main purpose is to establish, evaluate, monitor, and maintain the School Improvement Plan (SIP).  SAC is also an advisory body to the principal and staff of Pine Ridge Elementary School.  It is comprised of parents, teachers, classified staff, and community business leaders.

We meet the 1st Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Media Center.

2019-2020 and 2020-2021 Nomination Information

Below is information on the candidates that are on the voting ballots that are being sent home on 8/22/19.

Hi PRE families!  My name is Kim Flatt and I have a daughter in 4th grade.  I have been a proud PRE parent since 2008.  I have previously served on SAC during the 2008-2010 school years with my oldest daughter and the last 2 years with my youngest.  I love to be involved and help in any way I can to promote a positive atmosphere at our school.  I would love to be on the committee the last 2 years our family will be at PRE.  It's been wonderful watching our school develop over the years with the awesome families and administrators!  It's important to me to be able to give back to this very important community.

I’m Angela Dettore, and my daughter Mackenzie is in 1st grade this year. We have been with PRE since my son Jonathan started 2nd grade there 5 years ago and are looking forward to four more wonderful years here. I am seeking opportunities to be more involved in her school, and thought SAC would be a great place to start! I enjoy volunteering, and would like to place my skills were it really counts. It would be my privilege to sit as a member of our SAC committee, and help make important decisions for our PRE community.  Thank you for your consideration.

Hello, my name is Marisol Garcia. I am new to PRE and Clermont. I have two 1st graders at PRE, one with special needs and one without. I have been a teacher of children with special needs and worked with families and children ages 0-5 in and out of the school setting. I have also helped to provide those children and families with access to resources they may have needed to teach their personal and family goals. I believe I can bring a unique to SAC and would appreciate the opportunity to make an impact in the academic success of PRE.

Hello, my name is Kim Couch. My family and I love Pine Ridge Elementary! I have two daughter, one who is currently in sixth but went to PRE from kindergarten through fifth and a second daughter that is currently in fourth grade at PRE.  I have been in SAC for the past few years and have found it very rewarding to help give back to our school. I enjoy volunteering on SAC because the mission and vision of the PRE leadership team and teaching team is unlike any I’ve experienced before. They focus on all of the children here at Pine Ridge and work tremendously hard to meet all of their individual needs.  In addition to volunteering at PRE, I work full time at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital and the National Training Center and serve on various other community boards and committees including the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, the Health Sciences Collegiate Academy and Lake-Sumter State College.
